I have been dying to get a solid star trail over the Bixby Bridge since the first day I crossed it.
Seems like every time I took a trip north there was foul weather or there was no moon. That changed this last trip. With clear skies and a full moon I set up my camera and threw the GoPro on a tripod leg with the help of some parts from JOBY.
Using the Night Timelapse mode on the GoPro Hero4, I set the shutter to 30sec. and interval to continuous to let the camera run while I just sit and wait. This is a stack of 219 of those 30sec exposures.

Here's a shot of a camera shooting a timelapse, cameraception if you will. During my last road trip we camped for a night in Joshua Tree. I set up my Cinetics Axis 360 to shoot a timelapse while we sat by the fire. I figured I might as well get a behind the scenes shot since I had the camera handy. I set up the GoPro Hero4 on my Joby Focus Tripod and let it run while I let the slider do its thing.

While I had my girlfriend in town I thought we could enjoy some of the museums at Balboa Park on Free Tuesdays. A few of the several museums and attractions are free each Tuesdayof the month. Aside from a 5th Tuesday, should it happen, everything is regular price then.
We checked out the Natural History Museum and the Reuben H Fleet Science Center. After escaping the hordes in the museums, we wandered around taking photos. Although there wasn't much inside the Botanical Garden in the background, being winter and all, the reflecting pond was a nice site outside. A few ducks and turtles were enjoying the warmth of the sun.

Headed back and forth to Berkeley has allowed me to traverse this bridge a handful of times now. I love the look of the Bixby Bridge, and the other bridges in Big Sur along Highway 1.
There is also the history associated with the works projects that created the bridges. They made jobs for tons of unemployed Californians during the Great Depression.
I achieved a 10 second exposure using a neutral density filter and the TriggerTrap app on my phone.

I had the awesome chance to stay at the View Hotel in Monument Valley during a road trip through Utah. It sure does live up to its name.
I set up a few timelapse shots from the balcony of my room. I didn't plan to shoot a star trail since the moon wasn't out and the clouds were killing the shot. I still felt like stacking all the exposures into a star trail anyway.
The light trail is from cars on the 17-mile Scenic Drive that travels through the valley floor. The silhouettes are of the East and West Mittens and Merrick Buttes.
