Whenever I am fortunate to be at sea, I love to be on deck for the sunrise. Every one. There is always something magical when the glowing light ignites the sky, the sea and any islands in the way.
In the moment of this photograph, we were just passing the Bora Main Motu Reef heading toward the only channel that leads into the spectacular inner lagoon of Bora Bora. Mount Otemanu at the centre of the island is obscured by clouds.
The inner lagoon is an unbelievable paradise of a thousand hues of blues and greens where the snorkeling and diving is out of this world.
For this morning, I was happy the clouds from the earlier rain hung around long enough for the photograph but glad that they would move on for the days ahead.
Two hours later I was in the water...
