Cúc mâm xôi (Chrysanthemum morifolium), in particular, the yellow one is very popular in Vietnam as I saw it everywhere including on the boats in the Mekong Delta.
Yellow chrysanthemum also seems to be a flower of Teto rivalling hoa mai (Ochna integerrimai) and dã quỳ (mexican sunflower, Tithonia diversifolia).

Cultivation of chrysanthemum is supposed to originate in China, and spread over East Asian countries. It has been regarded as the flower of emperors in Vietnam. It is also the emblem of the Japanese royal family. I saw chrysanthemum patterns on the wood-carved doors of a former royal palace in Mandalay.
