Questions at the Time
Does willow grow by the lake, or does granite?
Does water tremble there, or the sky?
Does the wind blow, or is it the breath
of a bear speaking quietly? Does a cloud
leave this shadow in place, or is it the backside
of God? Which sun could be shining
except itself? What eye of heaven
tasted by the rich, red lip of this horizon?
