These modernised houses/buildings dominate the east side of Great Fryup Dale at this point and have been superbly finished. I'm not sure though they represent the ethos and character of the dale. Just my opinion.

Fryup is separated into two small valleys or dales: Great Fryup Dale and Little Fryup Dale. The majority of people live in Great Fryup Dale. It is located in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park

The curious name Fryup probably derives from the Old English reconstruction *Frige-hop: Frige was an Anglo-Saxon goddess equated with the Old Norse Frigg; hop denoted a small valley

Before you ask it's not my boat and yes I'd love to live this dream for a year.

This section of the canal is between Oxclose Lock and Renton's Bridge.

The Ripon Canal is located in North Yorkshire, England. It was built by the canal engineer William Jessop to link the city of Ripon with the navigable section of the River Ure at Oxclose Lock, from where boats could reach York and Hull. First used in 1773 and closed in 1956 consising of 3 locks over its 2.3 miles

In 1961, members of the Ripon Motor Boat Club formed the Ripon Canal Company Ltd, and gradually restored the canal up to Littlethorpe. Subsequently, the Ripon Canal Society spearheaded restoration, which was completed in 1996. It is now managed by the Canal & River Trust

This is Abbey Road in the market town of Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. It runs adjacent to the River Nidd

Among other things Knaresborough is famous for its Norman Castle, Ursula Southeil (c. 1488–1561), known as Mother Shipton, who was a medieval seer said to have been born in a cave south of the town, John Metcalf, known as "Blind Jack", who lost his sight in childhood and was a violin player, local guide, bridgebuilder, and roadmaker. A public house in the market square bears his name and St Robert, a 12th-century hermit whose cave can be found near the River Nidd further along Abbey Road
