Anchor Point is fifteen miles north of Homer, Alaska. On a beach facing the west setting sun, I found more than a dozen eagles. This is a notoriously cloudy and foggy area, and sometime the fog will burn off in mid-afternoon. When I noticed the sun breaking through, I knew I would have until midnight to get some sun-cloaked eagles, and this guy remained perched for more than an hour and had no problem with me standing five feet from him pointing a huge lens.
