I had a plan worked out to get up to the Lakes based around a forecast of clear skies! However, as I left home and got on the Motorway, it was evident that there was quite a bit of cloud. So I quickly changed plan and popped up Newbiggin Crags and I made it just in time to get this shot looking out across to the distant Peak of Ingleborough.
The light was fantastic and I was scooting around taking lots of shots whilst the light was good, either side of sunrise. I got lots of good images here. Not at all what I had planned but a great idea to change tactics.
I then went on up to Haweswater and there was plenty of cloud up there too. So some shots to come from there at some point later! The weather forecasting seems so unreliable at the moment. I checked about 4 different apps and all said clear skies. However there was plenty of cloud all around the North West of England today!

Der Lai da Palpuogna (Palpuognasee auf Deutsch) befindet sich oberhalb des Dörfchens Preda auf dem Gebiet der Gemeinde Bergün/Bravuogn im Kanton Graubünden. Der Bündner Bergsee liegt auf einer Höhe von 1917 Metern über Meer direkt an der Albulapassstrasse. Der See ist Teil des Naturpark „Parc Ela“ und wird vom Fluss Albula durchflossen. Der Palpuognasee ist etwa 500m lang, knapp 200m breit und maximal 25m tief.
Lärchen säumen das Ufer des Sees und die blaugründe Tönung lässt den See malerisch wirken. Nicht umsonst wurde der Palpuognasee vom Publikum des Schweizer Fernsehens zum „schönsten Flecken der Schweiz“ gewählt. Der See ist heute im Besitz der Elektrizitätswerke Bergün, die ihn als Stausee nutzen. Deshalb herrscht am Bergsee Badeverbot und somit ist das Baden im Lai da Palpuogna verboten.
