A visit to Chesterton Windmill and the opportunity to meet up with old and new friends, something we used to take for granted. The bright star on the horizon is actually Jupiter

As we rather worryingly seem to be heading towards stricter restrictions I had hoped to get an adventure in this weekend. I am also at the early stages of dabbling in a new branch of this hobby, Astrophotography. On Wednesday, with the prospect of clear skies, I wanted to try and take some shots of a nebula. As this takes a long time to photograph I purchased an adapter for my camera to allow me to power it from the mains, unfortunately all it did was fry the electronics of my 6D and it is now a very dead camera.

That has put paid to any trips out for a while so once again I have resorted to my archive. One of the side effects of the lockdown has been the amount of images I have processed that i would never normally have looked at. I do take rather a lot of shots on a trip out and I tend to process the most obvious ones first. As I tended to go out quite often I would quickly move on to a new set of images leaving thousands of images on the hard drive, never to be looked at. This is one such image, taken on our last trip out before the initial lockdown to Talacre.

A slight re-working of an old image with a bit of a story.
My Son, a product of the metric age, asked me for some images that he could get printed for his office. He failed to notice that a lot of printers work in inches and was a little surprised when a rather large tube turned up. I now have a 36x36 inch print to try and frame!

Few things can beat being in a beautiful location and watching a new day dawn

The church of Kilchrist ( Cill Chrosid) on the Isle of Skye. This was right by where we stopped on Skye and I was looking forward to shooting it, In reality it was extremely difficult to get a good angle on.
