L'isola di Palmaiola è un piccolo isolotto che fa parte dell'Arcipelago Toscano. Dista circa 7 chilometri dalla punta di Piombino e circa 3 chilometri dall'Isola d'Elba.

Il suo nome deriva dall'abbondanza in passato di palme nane (insulam Palmarole).

L'isolotto ha una forma conica e sulla sommità è presente un faro della Marina Militare, in una posizione di eccezionale visibilità e un piccolo eliporto. Il Faro inaugurato nel 1844 è costituito da una torre a sezione quadrata, che si eleva al di sopra di un edificio a pianta rettangolare disposto su due livelli con le abitazioni dei guardiani

The island of Palmaiola is a small islet that is part of the Tuscan Archipelago. It is about 7 kilometers from the tip of Piombino and about 3 kilometers from the Island of Elba.

Its name derives from the abundance in the past of dwarf palms (insulam Palmarole).

The islet has a conical shape and on the top there is a lighthouse of the Navy, in a position of exceptional visibility and a small heliport. The lighthouse inaugurated in 1844 consists of a square section tower, which rises above a rectangular building on two levels with the houses of the guardians
