This guy was real busy until it started to rain which you cannot see, I waited him out and when he stuck his head out to see if it was still raining, I shot it, notice the wood chips stuck to his beak.

This is very dedicated male Pileated who wound not move from that nest until the Female returned and of course she did not while I was there. But the intensity of the Male was astounding as you can see.

I was watching this pair almost all day coming and going into the nest with different kinds of food for the chicks, which I never got to see.
