To entice his lady friend to come and check out what he had to offer, a dapper Ruddy Duck showed off his unique courtship display by beating his bill against his chest feathers rapidly. This action creates bubbles in the water. A fascinating and highly entertaining display to watch.

I was looking around at Grandin Pond when this handsome male Ruddy Duck suddenly appeared out of the reeds! And there he was, staking out his territory and showing off his courtship display that was so entertaining to watch.

A handsome Ruddy Duck put on a unique courtship display by beating his bill against his chest feathers rapidly, creating bubbles in the water. He punctuated the end of the display with a belching noise!

A female Ruddy was nearby and appeared to be watching the action out of the corner of her eye! :0)
