My birding friend, Ludo Bogaert, and I spotted this recently fledged Albino Tree Swallow on the trail. Looking at it from a distance, I was at first confused, thinking that it may be a white Budgie escapee. Then we saw the parent dashing in to feed it, and we realized that we had come across something unique and rare.
If you look closely, notice the bird's red eye, the bill is pinkish, so are the legs.
The conditions were not ideal on the day - it was very windy and there's not much light in the thicket. I'm thrilled I'd managed to catch some record shots of this rare find. I would have to wait quite a while before another such opportunity would come my way.
