I found this huge moth ( six inch wingspan ) on my front porch fluttering around the porch light.

These and numerous other brown pelicans were seen from Crissy Field, San Francisco. They were flying back and forth between Golden Gate Bridge and Fort Mason (and possibly further). They also congregated on a small island on Crissy Field Marsh.
