I spotted this ailing Common Carder Bee crawling on our patio. It was clearly in a very poor state of health but I hoped all was not lost !

I mixed up a teaspoon of water with a drip of golden syrup and a pinch of salt and put it in front of him/her. The bee responded by hoovering up the liquid for several minutes before doing a little dance and flying on its way. It may not survive but at least it stands a better chance now 😀
