This is Ventisquero de La Condesa snowfield in La Bola del Mundo.

This snowfield located at a height of around 2200 m (7217 feet) was used from the beginning of 17th century to the end of 19th century to supply ice to the city of Madrid, 60 km (38 miles) away.

This snowfield normally melts by the mid of June, though sometimes it lasts until July or August.

In this place, Manzanares River is born.
