We spent a week in Seebach, in Germany's Black Forest, and the weather was sunny and hot (not too hot), as over much of Europe.
Ideal weather for harvesting hay, and in our case: for walking!

Literally! This photo was taken from a spot called "Hübscher Platz" in German, which translates as 'Beautiful Place'. I must say I agreed!
It is in the nature reserve of the Black Forest, on the climb of the Schliffkopf.

This kestrel was hovering over the vineyards of Waldulm in the Black Forest. I spotted it while we were having our packed lunch and I was happy with my 'capture' - and so was the kestrel with his: just minutes later it dived for a mouse that had ventured between the rows of vines, so he had lunch as well!

These were the vineyards near Waldulm in the Black Forest that the kestrel in my previous photo was hovering over. So this was the view we had over lunch - well, just part of it!
