I've visited several parts of Wales and will be showing you photos of Mid and North Wales in the weeks to come. For those of you who love my flower pictures: I visited several gardens over there. And if you like the series about Canada, I will return to them at some later time.
Our first stay was at Dolgellau, and it's between that town and Llanfachreth that we made the magnificent Precipice Walk that takes you along the borders of Lake Cynwch. I chose this photo to start with because it represents Wales for me: lakes, mountains, sheep, green, a 'moody' sky.

A Celtic cross in remembrance of a soldier who fell in France during WWI. Good to see Welshpool hasn't forgotten them: there were pieces of slate with a poppy on by the graves of all the victims of the wars.

View on the town of Welshpool from the churchyard. Currently Welshpool seems to attract most visitors because of its proximity to Powis Castle. The tower on the left is that of its Town Hall.
