Sunset at Point Roadknight.

It's hard not to feel some sense of romance when looking at the sea.

How deep is the Ocean is by Marvin Gaye and for my eye-rolling, rap loving teen who has recently discovered Marvin Gaye, presumable because her hero Tupac has mentioned his influence somewhere along the way.

Who'd have thought hey! But then again, I went down that path early on with Dylan, thinking that who-ever influenced him must have been good!

A raging sea at the Nobbies, Phillip Island causes white water madness and waves that crash against the blowhole.

For the FFF Snap Happy group weekly theme where the theme Drinks was chosen by Di PhotosbyDi .

What better way to warm your insides on a cold winter’s day than an afternoon whisky! (So I’m told. I wouldn’t know as I don’t drink spirits)

It really didn’t stop raining all weekend. No snow but hail. It was pretty easy to get the Wonder boy to agree to model for this image and I didn’t have to set up the rain on the window. He really loved the images and nothing makes me more happy. He chose a few he loved and this is one.

This also contributes to my Flickr 2020 X 100-x10 Portraits of son and fulfills some of the Bs suggested by James www.flickr.com/photos/pageworld/page1 yesterday- Boy, Black and white, my boy’s name and his nickname all start with B ;-) No Barbie yet.

"If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on, now
Cause there's too many places I've got to see
But, if I stayed here with you, girl
Things just couldn't be the same
Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you can not change
Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd

This image was a bit of a snap and there wasn't a lot of light. I really loved the seagull in the foreground, though my shutter speed not as high as it should have been. It is on my wish list to try to get a good image of gulls flying above me at the beach but haven't achieved it yet.

"Jealousy, turning saints into the sea
Swimming through sick lullabies
Choking on your alibis
But it's just the price I pay
Destiny is calling me
Open up my eager eyes
'Cause I'm Mr. Brightside"
The Killers
www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGdGFtwCNBE

Mr Brightside was abit of an anthem for this weekend away. Couldn't get it out of my head.

I am trying to find my "Mr Brightside" after a weekend where I am questioning how on earth I can call myself a photographer. I have hit the delete button more times than I care to count. Especially disappointing when I am supposed to be in my element photographing seascapes.

The brightside was the wonderful people I shared my time with while away, not least of all my dear friend Andrew and my ever patient Sherpa and enjoying some red wine, pizza, many laughs and very wet pants and socks.
I think this image was the pick of the weekend for me. Maybe.
