I'm not exactly sure of the ID on this one. I thought it was a Metallic Cool -skink Carinascincus metallicus or perhaps a grass skink but I'm not sure. Someone out there might know.
I photographed t his pair in the car park at Mt Baw Baw. They were very relaxed, basking in the the sun so didn't mind me getting quite close with the macro-lens to capture this image.
I used to collect frogs and skinks all the time as a kid and keep them in tanks or let them go in the garden. Biologically not a good thing to do but as a child, it really stimulated my love and fascination for our wildlife.
