On April the 8th our area was in the path of total darkness from the Solar Eclipse. We decided to spend the afternoon at our cottage on Lake Ontario which offers views east and south. The experience was certainly more exciting and memorable than I expected. We viewed the initial stages through our solar eclipse glasses and then my 'focus' changed to taking a few photos down the lake hoping to see some colour changes and whatever else the darkness may bring.
As totality and darkness developed it obviously became very dark, the temperature noticeably dropped, birds stopped singing and surroundings very quiet. It was really quite eerie.
Notice the swan quietly swimming by and a freighter in the channel.

Great to see both Osprey have returned to their nest site and doing a few upgrades. The other Osprey was nearby enjoying a fish.
