Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) taken earlier this week at Rowheath Park.
During our continued Covid lockdown here in the UK we try and get out for an hours walk daily. Occasionally will take the camera with me and usually have the 16-80 lens on. This particular morning I took along the 55-200 (for it's zoom range very compact lens). The park is no more than a 10 minute walk from home and in the middle of the park is a large pond and as I walked round the pathway this Heron was no more than 30 feet in front of me in this small patch of reeds. He stood there for ages and only flew off when someone else came along the path. The static shots came out ok but the shots I took of him flying are useless, so think I need someone to give me lessons on how to shoot birds in flight.

Tech. Stuff: Fuji XT3, Fuji 55-200 lens, Settings: F4.8 @ 1/250sec., ISO 320
