While every landscape photographer will tell you how important light is - sunrise, sunset, the golden hour, the blue hour, dusk, moonlight... has it ever occurred where it has come from?
I find light and distance fascinating. The measurement of a light-year is a mind blowing concept yet few think about it. Crossing an ocean is considered too far to travel by some people.
In the time to capture these 3 images, the light from the sun has travelled 93,000,000 miles at a speed of 186,282.397 miles/second... that’s roughly 8 mins!
Yet in the grand scheme of things the distance travelled from the sun to my camera’s sensor is only 0.00001583 ly (light year). We are truly living on a small planet, in a small solar system, in a small galaxy... now that mind blowing!!!
