The secret world of the STS
After many months of negotiations, Flickr is proud to announce that it has been allowed access to the mysterious world of the STS... an organisation steeped in daring exploits, who constantly operate behind enemy lines... and Yorkshire. An organisation so deep it's believed SPECTRE, the sinister organisation of the James Bond films is based on them. Today, no one has ever witnessed and captured their operations... that is, until now!
Our story starts 18 months ago when Channel 4 tried to buy the TV rights following a tip off from a rogue agent. However, the intelligence arm of the STS intercepted the encounter and detained the informant. It is believed he was court-martialed and thrown out of the STS... occasional rumours still circulate that he has gone to ground in Instagram, but these are unsubstantiated.
Undeterred the channel continued to search for a contact. Even with the recruitment of heavyweights - (Ant and Foxy of the Channel's successful "SAS: Who Dares Wins" series) infiltration proved impossible. Then late in October 2018 a WhatsApp group approached the channel. A series of encrypted messages containing misspellings to disguise individuals flowed between the two organisations. Very quickly, C4 realised they were way over their heads when details of some of the "less intensive, unclassified" operations were described. Highly sensitive and classified ops proved too shocking and tough for the ex-SAS operatives who pulled out sighting "bloody nutters, these guys... we'll stick to lecture tours and drug cartel documentaries, it's safer!". Still unperturbed, C4 went to Ofcom to outline the synopsis for the programme. It was deemed too unfit for public viewing which is why you have never heard of or seen the STS in action.
So without further ado... Flickr presents STS: Who Dares Shoots
THE RECRUITS
No one "finds" the STS, you are recruited and must undergo a strict interrogation just to be considered.
The recruitment phase starts with psychological tests which must be passed at every level... one wrong or indecisive answer and you're out! The full test is classified but here are a few test questions just to give you a flavour...
"Are you free February this year?"
"Full English or muesli?"
"Do you snore?"
"Are you up-to-date with all your injections?"
"Do you like sleeping?"
"How hot do you like your curry?"
