Not posted a square one for some time and my panos have messed up my photostream as I see it on my screen so this is by way of addressing the balance. This was taken way before my previous posting and would have been even earlier but for the cock-up in getting there. I had left the hotel (Mrs R sensibly fast asleep) about 5:15am for the short walk to the Castelvecchio only to find the main gate locked! The only way to get to the other side is head up the main road and cross further up river over the Ponte della Vittoria and back down the other side.
I'd planned to take my first shot with the bridge on the left which meant crossing the opening... since it was closed and the lights still on I decided to take the opportunity and shoot a people free bridge. No sooner had I setup my tripod, a runner, cyclist and early commuter came across the bridge... I now know there is a second gate (not connected with the castle) that is permanently open - a little more research and planning needed next time!!!
