Here is another night view taken in Chengdu. This is the beautiful Anshun (or Dongmen) Bridge crossing the Jin River. The bridge in itself is full of shops and restaurants.

The area in general offers a quite touristy but still very nice nightlife.

This bridge offers one of these typical view mixing modern and traditionnal achitecture. As many other "traditionnal" bulidings, this one is a rebuild of an ancient version (destroyed by a Flood in the 80').

This possibility to re-create ancient buildings was a real astonishing aspect of the chinese cultural heritage management (for us as european). The fact that a bridge, a temple or a wooden tower burns does not necessary imply that it has been destroyed, because it can be rebuilt exactly as it was. Sometimes, of course, there's something a little bit artificall in these re-creations. Especially when "ancient" things are created where there wasn't anything before. However, it's impressive to see how traditional technique of building can co-exist with modern ways. It's as if beeing "old" for a building was not a question of age but a question of architectural style.

James Cameron never made this explicit, but that's only a detail for chinese tourism offices : Zhangjiajie National Park is the crazy place that inspired Pandora in the Avatar movie.

And we can't deny the similitude : when the mist covers the bottom of these match-shaped mountains, it looks like the summit is floating in the air ... So even if it's "only" on our good old earth planet, it's still one of the most stunning scenery it has to offer ...

Here is a second sight ... it's takes quite a long time to sort and process these pictures ...

--------------------

24.11.16 : This picture get quite a lot of attention when it comes on the top of earthporn page on Reddit. However, I have to admit that I went a little bit fast on processing and I let a huge halo mistake. The fact that I get some attention made very difficult for me to watch this image without noticing ONLY this flaw. So I corrected it now ...

The Bamboo Forest of Yibin (Shunan Zhuhai National Park) is not the most famous place in Sichuan. It's even quite difficult to get there if you don't speak chinese (if you try to go there, you'll have to get in touch with the unavoidable Joan and her very nice gesthouse). However, it's a charming place that can give you more than romantic wandering under the bamboo tree : there's a lot of waterfalls and some astonishing caves and temples in the cliffs.

Here you have a view above one of the biggest waterfall ...
