I find these little songbirds extremely hard to photograph they flit around endlessly. This one was feeding on the seeds of this Curly Dock plant and was obliging for about half a second. Just enough to fire a few shots and poses and then he was gone, lucky I had my hand on the trigger!

A Golden-crowned Kinglet feeds on the seeds of a curly dock plant. The warm sun helped to melt the ice and reveal the seeds for the tiny cute birds. I rarely get to see these guys close up, much less get a photo. I don't like to crop too tight but a few large sticks were covering his rump and wing in a really unsightly manner. At least you can see his head in detail which we don't always get to do as they flit around like mad men. I sure do love their tiny orange feet!
