Today I saw this lower mainland rarity for the second time. Brunswick Point was again on fire with the wintering Gyrfalcon, Sora, American Tree Sparrows, Swamp Sparrow and Lapland Longspurs. Many Shorties, Shrikes, Peregrines, Rough-legged Hawks and Harriers were also very active. These Rock Wrens usually migrate from the interior of BC in the winter and they are always rare in the Vancouver area. This bird appears to be overwintering here. He was first found on Dec 16th by Steven Chen and Emily Tsai.

They were very skittish in TX as compared to the ones I saw in AZ who were tame as ever. One of my favourite wrens so much personality and beautiful plumage.

Finally got a decent photo of a Pacific Wren! While looking for the Black and White Warbler at Nitobe gardens (which I could not relocate), I came across this little cutie.
