Saronno. Italy.

From the naked fields surrounding my hometown, a look toward the last light of the day on the twin summits of Southern and Northern Grigna. In the front ground the small town of Rovello Porro with the tall belltower of its church.

Shot taken with the Sony SEL 18-200, at 225mm (equiv.), wide open, hand held at 1/100'' and ISO 800.

At the link below, a view of Northern Grigna from the top of its little sister, the southern one, also called "Grignetta".

Saronno, Lombardy. Italy.

Today I took a walk in the countryside, at the edge of my hometown, at sunset. I walked among the places where I used to play with my friends when we were very young, knowing that the big mountain that I love so much would have been there, as always, like a patient mother. To see her skyline towering above the land made me think that we cannot avoid what is going to come, when what is going to come belongs to Mother Nature's laws.
The region where I live, Lombardy, in the North of Italy, is in quarantine because of the Coronavirus epidemy. More than ten milions of people cannot leave their hometown except for work or emergency reasons.
The desease is not that bad, but the consequences of this quarantine will be very serious, first of all for economic reasons.

This is the skyline of Monte Rosa massif against the fiery sky.

Taken with a Sony 18-200. At 200mm, handheld. Love this lens.

Springs has come, and for those species who respected their own eco-system it is allowed to enjoy it.

La primavera è arrivata, e per le specie che rispettano il proprio ecosistema è consentito goderne.
