If the air looks exactly like the sand on the ground, then Calima rules the Canaries. In February we experienced this east wind from with the Sahara dust in extreme form. The visibility was not even 500m. We left in February with one of the last flights towards Germany. Afterwards the airports were closed for 2 days.

In the first moment it looks interesting, no shadows because no sun. The whole environment looks like a single sepia photograph. At second glance the unpleasant effects are noticeable. Dust everywhere, even in the lungs:-O.

A small settlement with 1500 residents on the west coast of Fuerteventura. A nice place to say goodbye to the sunset with a cocktail and then have a short meal.
