The sea stacks are 70m high!

The trolls in Iceland wanted to bring the Faroe Islands into their fold and commissioned a giant (Risin) and his wife (Kellingin) to do so.
The giant remained standing in the sea while the female troll climbed the mountain to tie the Faroese together and then push them onto the giant's back. She tried to attach the rope to the mountain, but the mountain base was solid and the islands were not easy to move.
At dawn the troll woman was still on the mountain and hastened to get down to the giant who was waiting for her in the sea. However, at the same moment as they were making their way back, the sun rose from the sea and petrified both of them.
Here they still stand today and look longingly towards their homeland...
