The stunning beauty of Lofoten should be known to anyone who is visiting flickr.

That is how I came to know of it, and after several pictures I decided, i should go there.
So last 16 days I have been running around on the islands in a constant exclamation of ah and wonder!!

Not that everything was perfect, the weather was especially rather lousy last week, but I learned already one lesson when I was in Norway two years ago, don't postpone when the sun is there. That resulted in a few very long days, which is rather easy this time of year, because it doesn't set. So that's another thing I can't show, beautiful sunsets or rises.

It will take me some time to make a collection, because there is so much. But this one is a nice starter, made with my drone, and one of the reasons why I wanted to have one. It gives an even better perspective of the islands.

A perspective even better comes with hikes, so these shots will come in time. Enjoy!

I spent 16 days in the Lofoten, driving ca 1800 kilometers on nearly every road I could find.

And so often stopping my car, for again another view and to make a picture of incredible landscapes. So I ended up with nearly 2900 pictures to sort out.
In the meantime I will try tp post some shots I am happy with, and this one taken with my Tablet is certainly one of them.

Although not a classic Lofoten image, it is a classic Norway image, and the reason I fell in love with the country. The sea, fjords, mountains close by, incredible views, changing weather (sun, clouds, wind, rain) it is all there. The sun popped out and lit the lovely houses (another thing I love). And on top, and what is characteristic for the Lofoten are the turquoise waters you can see everywhere, which is extremely clear, and gives you the impression you are somewhere in the tropics.

I took this picture on my first day driving from Harstad to my first B&B at Vestispollen, this shot is taken just before entering Austvaegoya, there where the real scenery is starting!

I took this picture on my first day driving from Harstad to my first B&B at Vestpollen (www.bbnorway.com/?marja-liisas-overnatting-lofoten,178, that I really can recommend). This shot was taken at Laupstad, ca 5 kilometer from my B&B with splendid scenery. The Lofoten at its best, and hardly to beat when the weather is like this.

When the sun is shining it is a tough life in the Lofoten. The days are long, because the sun doesn't set, and because of the uncertainty of the weather patterns you have to grab the moment.
In that respect I was extremely lucky during my stay, because the weather was good on days that were important for me during my travels on the islands.

This shot was taken ca 10 kilometers from my previous shot (www.flickr.com/photos/115540984@N02/29031951388/), and possibly the most beautiful part of the Lofoten(?), although the southern part around Å might be equally amazing.
