Another project I am considering is showing some pictures from the time I traveled through South America, already 10 years ago. It took me 15 months to cross the continent from south to north, and I was lucky to visit many stunning places. I had color slides and a very basic Nikon camera, and most pictures can't stand the judgement of quality anymore. Some can, and this is one of them. It was shot at Sullivan Bay, Isla Bartholome, one of the various islands you encounter when doing a tour, and as you can see it is a very young Island, where the lava fields are clearly visible. Needless to say, the Galapagos isles are one of the highlights of South America, and I was happy to spend 3 weeks here. It brings back very happy memories.
BTW, in front you can see a fumarole, an opening in the earth's crust, often in the neighborhood of volcanoes, which emits steam and gases.

Yesterday I saw the first part of Planet earth version 2, and the images of the Galapagos triggered me to post this shot, that I took more than 11 years ago in 2006 (I was young and handsome then, ahum :)). It was done with a not so good camera, but it was all that I had back then (and color slides but most of them were heavily damaged), and the amazing Iguanas of Espagnola were one of the many miracles I have seen there.
All the island have different versions, most are strange, with different colors, this one probably is the most colorfull.
