Apparently "common" but not so in these parts! This was the first time I've seen such a bird, and was lucky to get a shot of it! Funny enough I had no idea this bird has been spotted as I was looking for warblers (didn't have much luck).

After multiple attempts at one particular location I finally found the most patient red breasted sapsucker imaginable - the hustle and bustle of Goldstream PP did not seem to bother this beautiful crimson red headed bird at all! The only challenge is keeping that red, red, as the sony sensor cries trying to render that beautiful crimson!

Decided to take a trip down to a well known hotspot yesterday, and was thrilled with the result! Finding a White-eyed Vireo is a challenge north of the border, and so I'm happy with this shot even taken in the bright sun.

In the pines around Openego Road during a passing snow squall. What a wonderful weekend to spend in Algonquin, the snow hit the evening of our arrival and created some wonderful photo opportunities!
