Hooded merganser - I'm always amazed at the different head shapes hoodies get when they are displaying. Seems like they can fill their cheeks up with air, then do head tosses which can give them a twisted doughnut look. This pose I call the fire hydrant.

Was shooting these 3 snipes, 2 of them started all this silliness. Displaying and running around willy nilly. Seems a bit early for this type of behavior.
