Raouche is a residential and commercial neighborhood in Beirut, Lebanon. It is known for its upscale apartment buildings, numerous restaurants, cliff-side cafes and its wide seaside sidewalk, the Corniche, where strollers and joggers crowd the pavements in the evenings and weekend. Off the coast of Raouche, there is a natural landmark called the Pigeons' Rock (also known as the Rock of Raouche). Located at Beirut's western-most tip, the two huge rock formations, which stand like gigantic sentinels, are a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. Raouche's Pigeons' Rock has recently been featured on the front page of Microsoft's Bing.
When I had to pick my first blue hour/sunrise location in Beirut, I decided to go to Pigeons' Rock, even thought the sunrise would not provide dramatic colors as the sunset due to the location position as I already had plans for the evening time somewhere else. I was hoping for some nice clouds that would reflect the rising sun from the other side. Fortunately luck was on my side and I got some nice pink color on that lovely cloud.

Byblos (Βύβλος) is the Greek name of the Phoenician city Gebal (earlier Gubla). It is located on the Mediterranean coast of Lebanon, about 26 miles (42 kilometers) north of Beirut. It is believed to have been founded around 5000 BC, and according to fragments attributed to the semi-legendary pre-Trojan war Phoenician historian Sanchuniathon, it was built by Cronus as the first city in Phoenicia. Today it is believed by many to be the oldest continuously-inhabited city in the world.
Overlooking sunset over these coral reefs from ancient city walls, watching fisherman waiting their evening catch and sharing wonderful dinner over chilled glass of wine with someone special in this ancient city port cannot be more different to the general view that many people might have about civil war troubled Lebanon.

I was already finished with the blue hour shoot, however when I saw these amazing colors in the sky, I could not resist not to take one more shot. I had to push the ISO slightly higher as it was already rather dark. I like the dreamy like result due to the boats movement.

Tyre is a beautiful town on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. It is located at the meeting point of three continents and, as such, has been the crossroads of many civilizations whose traces may still be seen today. Tyre was a major Phoenician seaport from about 2000 BC onwards through the Roman period.
