This must be one of my all time favorite shots. It was taken in Yemen in Unesco World Heritage Site – Shibam, one of the most amazing places I’ve ever seen. I’ve been wondering around and just before sunset I’ve noticed warm sun rays shining through sand flying in the air. I only needed suitable point of interest to make this photo work, luckily I didn’t have to wait long for this man to appear. I particularly like the golden light with the warm deep colors which were created by a sun that was just about to set down.

Middle East - Sultanate of Oman - Wahiba Sands - Ramlat al-Wahiba - Sharqiya Sands - Large desert area with beautiful sand dunes
I always have such a wonderful time in the desert. This time was real great fun to explore the desert in this perfect sized 4x4. I often used it as my "desert model" to add point of interest as I have way too many pure sand dunes shots only. Add the rather strong blowing wind carrying the sand accross the dunes and you get great photographer's playground (although the camera wont thank you much... ;))

Middle East - GCC - United Arab Emirates - UAE - Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah - RAK - Sea of sand dunes in vast desert landscape with trees during sunset
Getting such a wonderful sunset in Middle East is very rare and when it happens all photographers run out and try to capture it on the best possible place, hoping the sunset would be in the right direction with something interesting in the frame. Those trees served nicely for that purpose in this case.

Middle East - GCC - Qatar - Bir Zekreet Desert Landscape - Spectacular rocky limestone cliffs & formations such as desert mushroom during Full Moon night
Qatar might not be blessed with the most dramatic and spectacular landscape (besides those enormous natural resources that made Qatar one of the richest countries in the world.) therefore finding something unique is not so easy. Area of Zekreet provides some lovely desert formation created by the sea in ancient times.
This wonderful place is also featured in Night Sky around the World Time-Lapse Video among many other interesting and unique locations around the world.
