Coppersmith Barbet, Takur Akar, Megalaima haemacephala
This species got its name because the calls is like a sound of coppersmith’s hammer. The first time I encounter this birds, it is perching high on a tree, too far for my lens. Usually can be found in scattered trees of open country, secondary growth and gardens. One need to be patient for it to comes down to lower level for a good shots. A tree with a lots of fruits got better chances to find this species. Look high up on trees in the gardens early in the morning. You might find it sitting on the top for a long period of time.
