Just outside Gwinn. Not to be confused with the other Bass Lake outside of Gwinn. Locals sometimes refer to this one (which is where our cabin is) as East Bass Lake. Looking generally east northeast.
The lake does not have either an inlet or an outlet. It drains the Great Cyr Swamp which takes up much of the central U.P.

It's hard for me sometimes to really understand that downtown Chicago isn't at the bottom of Lake Michigan. But this sure makes it clear. Just before sunrise.
