The breakfast table at the wonderful B & B we stayed at in Rotorua had butter and jams available, of course, but every table also had this assortment: HP sauce, catsup (called tomato sauce in New Zealand just to confuse us, but the traditional bottle helps) nutella, vergmite, marmite, and peanut butter!

The owner of the Long Flat Bacon Company has been raising hogs for 30 years, and making his own bacon for 10. I saw they were selling hot "bacon butties" so I had to order a couple for the long car ride ahead. Turns out that a bacon buttie is an impressive stack of freshly grilled Canadian-style bacon between two pieces of buttered bread. Tasty.

How about sweet chili relish? Lemon Moroccan chicken? Feta and olive? We really haven't even begun to explore potato chip flavors in the U.S. compared to the rest of the world. Chicken flavor is so common in New Zealand that fish and chip vans have shakers of "chicken" beside their salt shakers.
