I'm fascinated by the intricacies of a snow flake and how no two are alike. I've been wanting to try a macro shot of one, but I don't own a nice macro lens. I've been reading about different techniques of how to shoot one and decided to try one today since schools and work are out today because of snow. For this shot, I used a mounted 50mm 1.8 lens and my 18-55mm lens not mounted but turned backwards in front of the 50mm. I had to adjust the height of the tripod mounted camera to get focus. The snowflake is on a piece of black felt. I added a bit of sepia color to the flake, but left the background B&W.
Thanks for looking!!
