The Bali Bird Park is located in between Singapadu and Batubulan. Also called Taman Burung, it was established in 1995. The park has 1,500 different birds from 250 species found not only in Bali, but across Indonesia, as well as some exotic species from Africa, Australia and the Americas.
The Bali Bird Park has some rare and endangered birds as well. At the park, you can see the only bird endemic to Bali, the Bali Starling. It also has a breeding program to increase the bird population. This program has been successful in breeding the rare Pasquet's Parrot and numerous Bali Starlings.
To ensure the safety of the birds as well as visitors, a bio security system is in place to ensure that none of the birds are infected with bird virus. To prevent such infections, the park is kept clean and all foot baths contain disinfectant.
In addition to the birds, the park has 2,000 exotic trees and plants, including 50 varieties of palms. There is an aviary that recreates the rainforest habitat.
Visiting Information
The Bali Bird Park is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. The park is closed on the Balinese New Year.
