Little did I realize when I visited this falls that it would be as massive as it is. This 100 ft. river wide waterfall is quite impressive to view. Located about 5 miles off the Cherohala Skyway , you are driving along and bam!, you come across a bridge and the falls is right there. This was shot from that bridge.

For my 1000th post I figured I'd have to have a waterfall and one of the coolest I've ever seen in Bald River Falls. Located abut 5 miles off the Cherohala Skyway this massive 100 ft. tall river wide waterfall is awe inspiring! The challenge with this shot was the spray, it was whipping around pretty bad but interestingly I figured out there was a pattern to it and was able to shoot in a small window.

A funny thing happened on our way out of the park that closes a 1/2 an hour before dark. We got distracted. Walking the gorge trail we discovered that there was a way down to view the Upper Falls at Burgess Falls State Park from in front of the falls! Little did we realize that it was right when we should be leaving when we scrambled down. When we came out of the gorge the Park Police were waiting and furious. When we explained we were from another timezone and we were confused we got off the hook. Not much color to work with after dark but I like how it turned out.

A couple weeks ago I got the opportunity to visit one of my favorite waterfalls, Burgess Falls with my good friends Chuck Sutherland and Christopher Morris. I had been to the park twice before in the last few years but both times I was denied being able to hike to the bottom of the falls, making this a bucket list achievement. Towering at 133 ft, in my opinion it is one of the most beautiful falls in the state and one should definitely see this with their own eyes as this photograph just doesn't really do the impact of the scene and size of the falls the justice it deserves.

The massive North Arch of Twin Arches in the Tennessee section of the Big South Fork NRRA has a clearance of 70 ft and a span of 135 ft, the deck is 32 ft. thick at it's thinnest point. Absolutely one of the coolest formations I've had the pleasure to see. If you look closely my good friend Chris Morris sits on a rock near the bottom of the photograph for scale.
