Constructed in 1921 just South of Camp Mather, the Evergreen Lodge served as a post office, restaurant and general store (and it was rumored, moonshine) to the workers on the O’Shaughnessy Dam. The site became a lodge in the 1930s, which was popular with its gas station and illegal slot machines.
