The flight demonstration squadron of the US Navy, the Blue Angels are the second oldest formal flying aerobatic team in the world, performing to the public since 1946. Currently flying McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornets with distinct blue-and yellow color scheme, the 127 Angels pilots perform death-defying stunts to millions each year. An incredibly strict flight requirement is needed for potential recruits. The stunts are however quite dangerous; in its history, the Squadron has suffered 26 deaths to accidents-a 10% fatality rate.
