One of the beach towns of San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay is known for its fishing and abalone, as well as the massive volcanic plug jutting into the Pacific. Morro Bay Harbor, seen here in a foggy morning, is the only all weather harbor between Monterey and Santa Barbara and was constructed by the Army Corp of Engineers who need to constantly maintain the harbor to prevent siltation. It is one of the most dangerous harbors in the United States.
