A group of men sit on one of the benches in the Ridge area of Shimla, India. Taken with a Canon 5D4 and a 50mm lens. Converted to black and white in Lightroom, I think I prefer this version.

2024 Photo 87/279 The night sky above the house. The camera was pointed at zenith. With no fewer then eight trails slicing through the sky on a 15-second exposure, they sure look like some shooting stars to me. ©2024 | John M. Hudson

Two-lined Leather-wing, Two-lined Cantharid - Atalantycha bilineata (syn. Ancistronycha bilineata, length 7.5 mm)
Location: Durham NC (USA)
A beetle that comes out in large numbers in spring, then disappears. They seem intent, mainly, on mating, but I think I've seen them on flowers at times. Mating is prolonged in this species--I have seen it go on for days. (Or at least contact mate-guarding is prolonged.)
