[ND Phot #1]. The Lebaudy-Julliot le Jaune dirigible is seen here before the Halle des machines in Paris on 12 November 1903.
The dirigible was constructed by the Lebaudy brothers and designed by Julliot, hence the mostly used name Lebaudy-Julliot. A large dirigible with a length of 56,5 meter and a hydrogen volume of 2,284 m3. In the nacelle two propellers of 2,80 meter diameter were driven by a 40 hp engine.
This is one of the cards of ND Phot published on the occasion of the flight of the Lebaudy-Julliot le Jaune (the Yellow) over Paris in November 1903. In all the whole series amounted to about 40 cards.

[ND Phot #2]. The second card in the 30-piece series presented by the Établissements Photographiques de NEURDIN Frères - Paris (abbreviatiated as ND Phot).
Card #2 shows a complete view of the dirigible / airship from the right side. Characteristic vertical stripes on the envelope.
The picture is taken on 12 November 1903 in front of the gigantic hall named 'Galerie des Machines:. This big hall was specially built for the World Exhibition of 1889 on the Champ de Mars, the big garden near the Eiffel tower in Paris.
The Lebaudy-Julliot dirigible was named 'Le Jaune'by the yellow color of the envelope, probably this was the colour of the coating applied to get the envelope more or less airtight.

ND Phot #3. A detail picture of the Lebaudy - Julliot 'Le Jaune" dirigible before the Halles des Machines in Paris on 12 November 1903. Posing in the small nacelle are George Juchmès (the aeronaut - the 'pilot') and Antoine Rey (the mechanic).
One of the propellers at the side of the nacelle can just be seen. The engine, a Daimler water-cooled engine rated at 40 hp is mounted inside the small nacelle. The fuel tank is underneath the nacelle.
The nacelle is fixed to the dirigible envelope by 28 small steel wires, giving a rather cluttered view.
After the arrival in the midst of Paris the Lebaudy-Julliot Le Jaune was brought inside the enormous hall where it remained till its flight over Paris along the Eiffel tower on 20 November 1903.

The date of 20 November 1903 was the exact date of the flight over Paris - alongside the Eiffel Tower - which ended at Chalais-Meudon. The picture show the preparations to bring the dirigible out for the take-off.

[ND Phot #6] A detail picture from the side of the nacelle which gives a view on the installation of the Daimler engine (rated at 40 hp). The Daimler is set square in the nacelle, making it possible to drive both propellers. The quick revolutions of the engine is reduced by several cogwheels. For the 90 degrees drive of the propellet another gearbox is used. Propellers driving dirigibles were show moving of necessity, hence all the effort to bring the rvolutions / minute to the requited revs.

The card has been postally used, being send to Cassel on 7 January 1904). The receiver must have been happy as he in all received at least three cards of the ND Phot series.
