Another shot of the unknown French photographer. This time he has packed 6 people in the mock up machine. Normal hats were worn, no goggles. But the (picture) pilot saw fit to reverse his cap and even took a cigarette in his mouth for the picture in true Roland Garros style. Business was not bad for our photographer as he has already reached here number 1320.

Another view of the monoplane used by a French photographer to portrait his clients. In time whole groups were photographed. These are still wearing goggles to give some impression of flying on the picture. To recognize the picture the photographer added a number to the frame (here 415), so he was not doing badly. In the background is in large letters ASTRA a French firm specialising in dirigibles before the war.

Another view of the unidentified French monoplane of pre-WW1 vintage. It is quite clear here that the machine was used as a background for taking photographs. In this picture there is a white screen behind the machine. This shot has number '280'. Numbers used were loose numbers. This picture was in a very bad shape, but thanks to the current technology I could bring it back to an acceptable state.

A French unidentified monoplane of pre-WW1 vintage, which resembles in a way the basic Blériot Type XI ('Channel'). But look at the differences in the undercarriage.

My theory about this picture is that this monoplane was used in a parc (gates, trees) as a background for people who wanted to have their picture taken in an aeroplane. The people posing (with goggles) are obviously not pilots. As I have another picture of the same monoplane with another one posing, it might be that the number '25' is the number of the picture session. The other picture sports '280' another one found gives '85', all of the same machine with different people posing.

Another instalment of the French photographer who used a probably old and written off monoplane as a prop for taken pictures. This is number 225 in the series.
It is astonishing that the crew takes on those pilot caps.
