Lego bonsai made by my 12 year old Grand daughter, Gemma. Gemma and I wanted to photograph one of her many unusual Lego creations. We were looking for good light but it was raining outside. So we set up under the covered patio on top of a Weber grill with the backyard fence in the background. Worked out ok.

I was needing a med rare American style burger in Quito, Ecuador, and found it along with a vanilla shake at la Birreria in Cumbaya (a Quito suburb). Outstanding.

Antisana is a mysterious volcano in Ecuador. Until recently, it was fairly challenging to reach. Now, it is part of a national park. The feature in the foreground is a hut used by Alexander von Humboldt in the 19th century. von Humboldt was a gifted botanist and geographer who heavily influenced Charles Darwin. von Humboldt climbed every volcano in Ecuador, before the availability of advanced mountaineering gear.
