The shorebirds should be on their way south from their Arctic Nesting Grounds.

Here is a group of Western Sandpipers, Dunlin, Semipalmated Plovers, and Least Sandpipers in flight to celebrate their return.

All of these shorebird species nest in far Northern Canada and Alaska at or above the Arctic Circle, and far from most humanity.

Luckily, they can be easily seen on migration and wintering around wetlands and mudflats throughout much of Temperate North America.

Note: Dunlin also occur in Eurasia :-)
